glam me up

last friday i did an exclusive performance for my friend's glam rock gig.
Vanity Riots is an amazing band with amazing talent.
Monica Strut (the hot front woman) asked me to do a piece to the Avenged Sevenfold's Scream, and i added my own touch of Cherry Pie.

glitzed up in neon, i burned the stage.
(at least i like to think so)

the night ended perfectly with Harry's Cafe De Wheels
chilli dogs are the bomb

summer lovin'

up until today the weather has been fine here in the land of auz.
i've been beaching it and enjoying the sun.

now it's raining and i'm wishing for a cold winter again.
but the joys of summer live on.

break my heart

For the fabulous Valentines day gig, I made a new pair of nipple pasties. Way way back in the archives of this blog is a great DIY post on how to make a pair of nipple pasties. It's been the most popular post on my blog because I made it so easy.

But for this pair I decided to change my technique - mainly because I had no craft foam at home and no time to run to the store. I did my research and found OUCHIES instructions on how to make nipple pasties out of card and fabric. GENIUS! These babies look so much classier and have a better shape to them.

While performing I've noticed that the craft foam doesn't stick as well and is so thick that it gets in the way. I popped a paistie once in a fan dance because the fan ripped it off. These card/fabric pasties don't seem to have that problem.

The problem I did have was that the diamontes fell off - but just paint a layer of clear nail polish on the top and that should stop it. I was just running out of time, and stuff that like is easy to fix (as you can see, I fixed them...yay!) All you need is extra crystals, gem tac and a good pair of hooked tweezers.

I've also found that a combination of double sided tape and spirit gum is the best to keep pasties on. I had a layer of tape on the edges of the hearts and then put spirit gum in the spaces. The tape keeps it stuck while the spirit gum dries, and you feel much more secure.

Hope this new post on nipple pasties has helped. Check out OUCHIES pastie post:

breaking hearts

The amazing Ladyy Nostalgic and I performed at LOVE HURTS!/DOOMED AND DAMAGED VALENTINES DAY BASH on valentines day and had a blast! I think we destroyed a few lives that night with our hotness.

Catch my next performance on Friday the 24th at VANITY RIOTS & VIRGINIA KILLSTYXX LIVE @ THE VALVE. Click on the link and print out the flyer to receive a discount at the door. I'll be doing an exclusive performance just for this night - so don't miss out!

Fluro inspiration

The cover of the recent Wonderland has given me some ideas...

"Fluffing" at Dome Bar

Miss Maple Rose has a permanent gig every Friday night "fluffing" the audience (in a completely non-seedy way) for the Dome Bar Burlesque. For $25 you get to watch a amazing show by the top burlesque performers in Sydney, a glass of wine and finger food, which are all base ingredients to an epic night out. I will be attending weekly to roam the audience in my own creations for photo opportunities and to rile you up. Be aware of my feminine whiles.

Come and see for yourself.

bright like neon love (and not the cut copy way)

another costume bites the dust!

neon love is a burlesque performance i'm doing for VANITY RIOTS & VIRGINIA KILLSTYXX LIVE @ THE VALVE , an awesome glam rock gig on the 24th of feb. it's a stunning fan dance under black lights so the neon and white glow. but before the black light is even installed, the cossie has to be made.

i bought a cute neon and leopard number from kmart ages ago and decided to customize it up...

i stocked up on neon fringe and sequins...

i laid out my design before i even began to sew...

and then i started a-making...

ta da!
there are even cuff bracelets (that's what's on the shoulders)

And then a wig as the finishing touch...

photos of the event will be up once the event has happened.
wish me luck!

now all i need to do is find a black light. any thoughts?

I've recently been working on a bedazzling bra for a burlesque performance and everyone who comes into my room seems to comment on it. Here's the beauty through the ages.
