I'm not 100% happy with my
DIY Jeffery Campbell gold boots. I'm not sure what it is, but I really like how expensive the original ones look. Mine just look ratty. I also like how the boot is a lower cut around the ankle.
So, I have a plan B. Plan B entails painting my old school shoes (good ol' Dr. Martens) with gold leather paint. What do y'all think? I need opinions, people.
Do I paint these with gold leather paint?

ReplyDeleteI think the leather surface will work & look better then suede. Should look cool with Yellow Stitching? Love the Gold and Red : )
ReplyDeleteNB: forgot the word suede on last post = reason for deleting (woopsies)
Yes. (What have you got to lose?)
ReplyDeleteWith some work, you still might be able to get the denim ones closer to what you want....you can cut them down and around the ankle like the other boot....and use a couple of coats of Jacquard's Lumiere Gold paint on them rather than just spray paint. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks for that, Stella. I knew the spray paint was what made it look a bit cheap, although I've work them out a few times and people seem to like them. But I am thinking of painting them with real fabric paint/water proof paint to make them a bit more glossy and have a full, clean cover.
